The 18th often leaves visitors stunned and perplexed. As the course's signature hole, it is a welcoming finish to any golfer's round, good or bad. For the Average Joe, aim for the break of the dogleg, if not a little left. Big hitters can aim for a line close to the black and white post. The approach shot is very deceptive, being far harder than it looks. Unless one is seeking a birdie, just hit the green in regulation as the surface is the flattest on the course.
It is always better to be short than long when attacking the green as gorse bushes and fern surround all but the front of the green.
TIP: Stop and smell the flowers, this is a truly remarkable hole and should be taken in good heart by all those who are lucky enough to witness the natural beauty of the welsh countryside. |
