When played into the wind, this hole is very long. Gorse runs the length of the hole on both sides and, from the tee, thick rough occupies the right side of the fairway. A small concealed pond lies at 140 yards from the tee for any topped drives, but otherwise the drive is fairly simple. The second shot can reach the green in still conditions only, otherwise just aim for the black and white post to find a wide, down sloping fairway.

The green is cut into a bank inclined to the right, thus, if one is not going to carry the green, they may prefer to aim left and let the contours of the hole bring the ball right and onto the subtly right-sloping green.

TIP: Be cautious with the approach shot if players are teeing off on the green-adjacent 17th tee box. Its best to be safe than sorry and wait for the tee box to clear.
